1. Introduction
HugStitchLoom AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an Android crochet companion app offering digital crochet patterns, educational resources, PDF reading, crochet tools, project organization features, and premium subscription content. This policy describes the personal information processed through the app and associated services, how it is used, and your choices.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, we may process:
- Account information: email address, unique account identifier, and authentication tokens or metadata managed by Firebase Authentication. We do not need to store plaintext passwords in our own database.
- Subscription information: Google Play purchase tokens, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, subscription status, renewal and expiration information.
- App information: saved patterns, favorites, project details, reading progress, stitch or row tracking, lesson progress, and settings, where these features are enabled. Some data may remain only on your device.
- Technical information: IP addresses, app and device details, service request metadata, and security or error logs processed as necessary by our service providers.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to authenticate accounts; deliver patterns, lessons and tools; save supported preferences and progress; verify subscriptions and restore eligible purchases; prevent fraud; maintain service security; troubleshoot problems; respond to support requests; and comply with applicable law.
4. Firebase Services
We use Google Firebase Authentication for sign-in and may use Cloud Firestore for account-related information, settings, and supported saved progress. Google's handling of data for these services is described at Firebase Privacy and Security.
5. Google Play Billing and Subscriptions
Premium access is offered through Google Play Billing. The planned monthly subscription price is US $9.99 per month; the actual localized price and terms are displayed by Google Play before purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled under Google Play terms. Google processes payments; we do not directly collect full payment card numbers. We may process purchase tokens and subscription status to determine premium eligibility.
Manage or cancel a subscription at Google Play subscriptions. Deleting an app account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. See Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Subscription Verification Backend
If enabled, a secure backend using Cloudflare Workers may authenticate users, transmit purchase tokens to the Google Play Developer API, verify subscriptions, and associate verified entitlements with accounts. Related request and security metadata may be processed. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
7. Patterns and Educational Content
We provide digital crochet patterns and instructional content. Depending on the app feature, saved patterns, progress, and preferences may be held on your device or in app services. Access to premium content may require a valid subscription. Downloaded or cached content may remain on a device until deleted.
8. Device Permissions
Where supported, file access or Android's system document picker may be used to open, save, or export documents. You can review applicable permissions in Android settings. We aim to request only permissions necessary for app functionality.
9. Sharing of Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers such as Google Firebase, Google Play, and Cloudflare (if enabled) to operate the app, verify subscriptions, and secure services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or protect legal rights.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect data, which may include encrypted connections, authentication, access controls, database security rules, and restricted server credentials. No system can guarantee absolute security.
11. Data Retention
We retain information as reasonably necessary to operate accounts, verify subscriptions, provide support, meet legal requirements, and address security issues. Retention periods depend on the information and service. Information no longer required is deleted or otherwise handled appropriately, subject to legitimate legal and security needs.
12. Account and Data Deletion
You may request account and associated data deletion by emailing aksclassic247@gmail.com with the subject HugStitchLoom AI — Account Deletion Request. Include the email address associated with your app account, but never send passwords or payment card details. We may verify account ownership before processing the request. Some information may be retained where legally or operationally required. If in-app deletion is available in your app version, you can also use that feature. Account deletion does not cancel Google Play subscriptions; cancel separately through Google Play.
13. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible personal information, and exercise other privacy rights. Email aksclassic247@gmail.com for assistance.
14. Children's Privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13 without legally required authorization. Contact us if you believe such data was collected inappropriately.
15. International Processing
Service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. We will use safeguards for international transfers where required by applicable law.
16. Third-Party Links
The app may link to third-party services such as Google Play or the HugStitchLoom Etsy shop. Those services have their own privacy practices.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when our app, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will revise the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice when required.
